This antique Kilim comes from Moldova. Hand-woven with remarkable precision, it is a true celebration of nature. Unlike more classic models, it stands out with its golden ochre central medallion, which literally illuminates the weaving and showcases a bouquet of luxuriant roses. It is a "sunny" piece that brings immediate vitality to any living space.
Why I chose it for the shop:
Its unique brilliance: The contrast between the deep black background and this central mustard yellow creates a striking relief. The flowers seem to bloom out of the rug.
Its floral density: This model is particularly rich in details. Every corner is adorned with rose and foliage motifs, typical of the Moldovan "garden" style.
Its condition: Although old, this kilim has been carefully restored by the artisans with whom I work in Istanbul. It has retained all its authenticity while being ready for its new life.
Some tips for styling it
With its majestic dimensions, I imagine it perfectly as the centerpiece of a large living room. It structures the space with incredible elegance. It also works very well in a large bedroom to bring a warm and artistic atmosphere. Its yellow medallion is a true "light catcher," ideal for warming up a somewhat plain room.
My little care tip: A simple vacuum (without a brush) is enough for daily maintenance. Natural wool is a noble material that gains in beauty over time.
